Distinctness is the collaborative printmaking work made by the artists Panagiotis Katsios and Dimosthenis Bogiatzis in the years 2014 and 2015 during their studies.

  The basic concept that governs this work is neither bound to the abstraction of it nor an effort for a balanced harmonious image, but to the battle between the two. It's that give and take, write and erase, create and destroy - a freedom without boundaries that they gave one another.
The images are the remnants and traces of this mutual exchange, without a preconceived composition or thematic. The surprise that came with each and every one of them was unprecedented and inspirational - a revelation of an unreachable point, marking a truly decisive moment for both.
That element of surprise and chance occupies both artists still to this day and is an integral part of Printmaking as an art-form with which most printmakers can identify one. The black and white of the prints and the technique of etching, the pressure under the press and the ink on paper do, truly, document in the best way this experience.
As the artists wrote right after finishing the series, ´´ The boundaries between individuality and collectively are blurred and neutralized ´´.
